That is what I CAN do. That is what will be most helpful. That is what can and will change the world. I cannot change every person. In fact, it has been my experience that people don't want to be told what to do and they don't like to be judged. Because I see that, I know the only thing I can do is be that which I desire for the world. I can BE the change ... I can BE the love, I can BE the compassionate person I think would create healing and peace.

Every moment we have a choice to drop everything and fill the needs of those around us. Sometimes we aren't able to do that, and that's ok. Those times though that we are? We should do it. We should literally drop what we had in mind, like eating breakfast and writing a blog post, and drive to the park because the kids wanted and needed it. We can look at the world around us and say to ourselves, "is there a need I am able to fill?" and then fill the need when we're able. Doing this brings a joy to life that is unmatched and not attained in any other way.

I believe that as we focus on unity and let go of the need to control and make everyone fit into the box we believe they should fit into, we will bring about a healing and a change to the world that will cleanse and replenish and lift up and lighten and brighten and strengthen and make way for peace.

As I was "walking" my heart rate down before I had to be home ... with 8 minutes to spare to take my daughter to middle school, I just felt this gratitude.
