The 13th century poet, theologian, and mystic Rumi said, “Wherever you stand, be the soul of that place.”
It could be stated as well “Consider becoming the type of energy that no matter where you go, where you are, and what you’re doing, you always ADD value to the spaces and lives of those around you.”
There are certain people in this world who are magnetic. You WANT to be around them because they’re fun, or they’re happy, or they’re clever, or they’re silly, or they’re wise, or they’re so full of hope you can’t help but be hopeful too, or they exude peaceful energy. These are people who walk into a room and light it up. Everywhere they go they bring brilliance that is impossible to ignore.
This kind of person is love. Whether it’s a love of life, or an unconditional love for others, or a love for whatever is happening in the moment … the energy and aura around them is love and that energy is clear and pure and expanding (that means it GROWS! Just being around it feeds it and it’s hard not to feel it too).
These kind of people add value and light to every place they go. It doesn’t matter if it’s walking into a room at a party and smiling and talking and being friendly, or standing in line at the grocery store and even if it’s a time warp taking forever (hello Walmart) they’re happy and full of peace, or if it’s taking any challenging situation and making it lighter and easier and less heavy … these people bring a relieving energy to the world.
I think this way of living is THE way. I want to BE this person. I want to surround myself with other people who are this person too.
Now, there is nothing that says you HAVE to live a certain way.
There is not any person who is forcing you to be this or that.
There is nothing that says you have to be happy and loving and kind.
I’m not telling you one way to live because I think you’re “good” if you live this way and “bad” if you don’t.
I’m only giving my perspective on how to live a joyful life.
Could you live other ways and be joyful? Absolutely! If you have found a way to be joyful and full of easy light energy in your life … go that way! Do that! Be that!
This is what has given me freedom – this is what inspires me and what I desire to surround myself with.
This is what helps me: understanding that my energy is everything, and what I do and what I say and how I “give” to the world affects that energy that makes up my soul’s atmosphere.
Could I live a perfectly “ok” life not being joyful, not being optimistic, not being love? Maybe. I don’t want to try it. I like having joy in my life. I like offering love to the world. I prefer being happy and optimistic and hopeful and light and easy. I think I don’t NEED those things to live, but why would I want to live any other way?
I can’t imagine accepting pessimism and fear and disgruntled energy as the way I CHOOSE to live. I don’t want that way.
You can choose the way you live your life. That’s the best part … each of us gets to choose. I love focusing on love. I adore expanding joy energy in my life. I appreciate people who give me inspiration and light and desire to be one of those people. For ME this IS the only way that makes life worth living.
And so I continue to write and post positive affirmations and cliché quotes that are meant to inspire and I smile when people think it’s over the top and I think “maybe it is, but I would rather offer this to the world than anything else.” So I live my “positive” “cliché” “love is the answer” life and I love it, and I hope to inspire others to try it and see what it has to offer.
It’s pretty spectacular. You should consider living this way for 3 months … TRULY living in this world and see what it brings. Maybe you’ll be surprised. (and if you’re already “on board” isn’t it amazing?)
