Of course, we all breathe all the time no matter what, it’s survival, but when we consciously breathe DEEP breaths several times a day it has huge benefits!
•Breathing releases toxins from our bodies which boosts immune function.
•Breathing increases our energy – more oxygen = more life.
•Deep breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system … It CALMS us!
•Deep breathing can help us feel less stressed as it releases muscle tension in our bodies.
•Deep breathing affects our mental state; it can reduce stress, anxiety, depression and negative thought patterns and also enhance our ability to focus, learn, memorize and concentrate.
•Breathing slows aging by increasing secretions of anti-aging hormones. It also elevates levels of seratonin and endorphins in the body, which affects our mood!
•It’s been shown in studies that deep belly breathing is beneficial in so many ways!
So … Pause for a moment, put your hand on your belly and take a deep breath in …. Your belly should move OUT as you breathe in, and then move back in as you release the breath. Doing this several times per day will increase your well-being in so many ways.
